This project was probably one of my favorites. Not only was it cheap & easy, I had one of my grand babies as my helper. I bought clear ornaments at the dollar store, two for a dollar.
Adding household items and nature items not only saves money but it looks beautiful.
I also bought styrofoam cylinders at the dollar store for $1 each.
Trees: I used jute twine to tightly wrap around each tree starting at the bottom, hot gluing the ends of the jute at the beginning and again at the top. I made the stars by using a skinny cinnamon stick, breaking it in half to make it the right length to hold up the Anise star, then poking it down into the cylinder at the top. I wrapped one tree with bittersweet to give it a little color.
Ornaments: My grand baby and I had fun gathering these items from outside to go inside them. We gathered pine tree clippings and red berries for these ones, but there are so many different variations you can do with these, just have fun with it! I also used a smaller ply jute twine to wrap around the tops of the ornaments.
